The district supports a growing community of young learners from
pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. Located in central Gloucester
County, New Jersey, the township surrounding the schools is 19.8 square
miles in area, encompassing the communities of Ewan, Jefferson, Richwood,
and historic Mullica Hill.
The district has two school buildings. Harrison Township Elementary School (grades K through 3, and a pre-school handicapped program) houses over 800 students. Pleasant Valley Elementary School (grades 4 through 6), houses nearly 700 students.
Each building has a dedicated and caring Principal, and the offices of our district-level administrators are located at Harrison Township Elementary School. In addition to the pre-K through 3 academic programs, this building houses the offices of the Superintendent, Business Administrator/Board Secretary, Director of Curriculum, Supervisor of Student Services, and Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds. The Transportation Department is also based at this building.
Our district is known for a strong academic program, as well as for its attractive suburban setting, strategically located with access to major transportation routes.
Upon completion of sixth grade at Pleasant Valley School, township students are promoted to Clearview Regional Middle School (click to connect to their website), where they join students from the Mantua Township School District to begin the seventh grade.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Harrison Township School District, in partnership with the home and community, is to provide all children with the opportunity to develop their intellectual, physical, emotional and social potential; to become confident, capable, life-long learners. It is the expectation of the Board of Education that students at all grade levels achieve the New Jersey Core Content Curriculum Standards. Together, we are committed to fulfill our mission by providing the necessary resources to foster a safe, caring, supportive environment of mutual respect, communication, teamwork and appreciation of the individual.
